This talk will detail the archaeological, osteological and historical detective work involved in the search for the remains of King Alfred, which was a joint University of Winchester and Hyde 900 project in 2012 and 2013. The project was the focus of a BBC2 documentary in January 2014 as well as a co-authored book. The talk will include many details that were not in the documentary or the book.

Dr Tucker is a Visiting Fellow in Osteoarchaeology at the University of Winchester.
