In this talk Dr Ed Peveler, Landscape Heritage Officer at the Chilterns Conservation Board, will update the society on the progress of the National Lottery funded “Beacons of the Past” project. This summer 1400 km2 of LiDAR data is being released for Citizen Science analysis, allowing archaeology hidden beneath Chilterns woodlands to be spotted and recorded. Ed will introduce the mechanics of LiDAR survey, and share some of the exciting new discoveries coming to light.
