On Sunday 15th of June AIM exhibited at the Marlow Town Regatta and Festival. The event was again blessed with good weather, although a blustery wind kept us on our toes. We received a constant stream of visitors, who showed much interest in our information boards, artefacts and exhibits, especially the model ‘trebuchet’, which launched peanuts up to 5 feet! Thanks for the loan, Arthur Boarder.
We also handed out about 100 sets of our ROMADAM leaflets on the day, plus many Current Archaeology and British Archaeology magazines and a pile of June newsletters. We hope that our strategy of giving away good quality materials will help to increase our membership numbers.
We had a good turnout of volunteers who chatted to the visitors to our stand. Many thanks to them all, as their many hands made the work lighter.
All in all, it was a very successful day for the Town, for the rowers and for AIM and all the other exhibitors.
